5月17日是「世界高血壓日」。台大醫院院長既台灣高血壓學會理事長陳明豐指出，在各種引發高血壓的危險因子中，以體重過重最容易引發高血壓，根據統計，肥胖者罹病率更是正常體重的4倍之多，因此今年的「世界高血壓日」主題訂為「健康體重，健康血壓」。
